The Ajax FireProtect 2 Heat is a wireless fire detector focused on temperature rise detection for fast and accurate alerting. It features dual external thermistors designed to sense sudden temperature increases, triggering if the ambient temperature exceeds 64 °C or rises by 10 °C within one minute, making it ideal for detecting unseen fires before visible smoke appears.
Within a networked system, activation of one FireProtect 2 Heat triggers all connected units to alert within 20 seconds, ensuring comprehensive site protection. It includes a built in siren and status LEDs indicating power, malfunction, and alarm. In standalone mode, without hub connection, the unit still provides local audible and visual alerts.
The device is powered by a sealed battery (up to 10 years life) It communicates securely via the Jeweller radio protocol, with encrypted two way communication, device authentication, and a reliable range of up to 1700 metres in open conditions. When paired to a compatible hub, users can monitor device status and alarms via the Ajax app.
Installation is simple and tool free using the SmartBracket mounting panel for wall or ceiling setup. Configuration and testing can be done remotely via the app. The FireProtect 2 Heat fully complies with European fire safety standards including EN 14604, EN 50291 1, and EN 54 5.
